The 2018 defense policy bill is headed toward the finish line after Congress released its final version of the legislation.

The House Rules Committee is scheduled to meet Monday evening to discuss the National Defense Authorization Act.

This comes after House and Senate negotiators came to an agreement on a bill, which would authorize nearly $700 billion in defense spending and include a 2.4 percent pay raise for troops.

The bill could come to the House floor later this week.

It’s expected to reach the president’s desk before the mid-December deadline.
