National Security Adviser H.R. McMaster says the president is doing everything in his power to ensure peace in the Middle East.

On Sunday, McMaster said President Trump is sticking true to his campaign promises, which includes moving the Israeli embassy to the country’s capital city.

McMaster’s statement comes as President Trump plans to announce whether to move the U.S. embassy from Tel Aviv to Jerusalem this week.

According to sources, the president is likely to declare Jerusalem as the capital of Israel clearing the way for the embassy.

“He’s following through on a pledge he made during his election,” said McMaster. Now I am not sure what decision he’ll make, we’ve given him options– there are options involving the move of an embassy at some point in the future. Which I think could be used to gain momentum toward a peace agreement and a solution that works both for Israelis and Palestinians.”

McMaster also said the U.S. is working with allies including Muslim majority countries to combat ISIS threats worldwide.
