President Trump Hosts Immigration Roundtable with Calif. Officials

President Trump recently hosted a roundtable on immigration, emphasizing national security and community security as a critical priority.

On Wednesday, the president said the ‘catch and release’ tactic is not working, and it’s allowing illegal immigrants to commit additional crimes.

He citied the issue as nonpartisan, emphasizing the U.S. needs immigrants based on merit.

The president went on to say border crossings are down 40-percent, but stressed the importance of building the border wall and acquiring the necessary funding.

He heard from various California officials, who thanked the president for his help in securing the border and protecting their communities.
