The Justice Department is set to release documents relating to the use of an alleged FBI informant during the 2016 presidential campaign.
According to reports, the information will be made available to lawmakers next week.
The DOJ has been pressured by congressional members to release the documents in recent weeks, however, they were reportedly hesitant as they feared for the alleged informant’s safety.
Last month, the bipartisan ‘Gang of Eight’ was allowed to review the material during a briefing, but it’s still unclear what those documents contained.
Officials said both the DOJ and FBI are now prepared to release more information as well as answer questions pertaining to the matter.
