President Trump, Kim Jong Un Agree to Complete Denuclearization of Korean Peninsula

President Trump and North Korean leader Kim Jong Un make history by signing an unwavering agreement to complete denuclearization.

The president announced the move during a press conference Tuesday, following his landmark Singapore summit.

The two leaders met at the Capella Hotel, where they shook hands before beginning bilateral discussions.

In his statement, President Trump said his discussions with Kim were honest, direct, and productive. He reiterated this is the first bold step for a brighter future for the people of the U.S. and North Korea.

In regards to denuclearizaton, President Trump said he’s confident Kim Jong Un will start the process right away.

However, sanctions will remain in place until the White House is sure nuclear weapons are no longer a factor

Kim said both nations have overcome several obstacles to get to this point.
