President Trump said the United States is saving a fortune by skipping joint war games with South Korea.
In a tweet Wednesday, the president said canceling the exercises are worth it so long as both sides are negotiating in good faith.

President Trump made the surprise concession on the drills to North Korea’s Kim Jong Un, which both leaders have called very provocative.
South Korea released a statement, saying a halt in joint military drills with the U.S. may be necessary to expedite talks on North Korea’s denuclearization.
However, Japan’s defense ministry said the joint military exercises were necessary for East Asian security. and it would seek to continue the drills with the U.S.
