President Trump’s newly picked ambassador to Germany says he’s excited about the wave of conservatism making its way across Europe.
In an interview over the weekend, Richard Grenelll said there are lot of conservative leaders in Europe who have contacted him telling him they feel the conservative resurgence on the continent.
Grenell added, the key of the movement is focusing on issues that improve the lives of ordinary working people, including tax cuts, immigration reform and cutting red tape.
He also spoke about his new role in Germany, and how he’s dealing with European leaders looking to work around new U.S. sanctions imposed on Iran.
“We have to have diplomats who implement the presidents policies so what I’ve been trying to do is explaining to European businesses they can either do business with the United States or with the mullahs in Iran, but you can’t do both,” stated Grenell.
The Trump administration has already imposed sanctions on Iran’s central bank, following its withdrawal from the controversial 2015 nuclear deal.
