U.S. led forces are ramping up operations against the Islamic State in Syria, targeting the few remaining pockets of militants.
U.S. Central Command announced Friday, a total of 225 strikes were carried out in may, by the U.S.-backed Syrian Democratic Forces and other global partners.

This represents a 304% increase over the amount of operations conducted back in march.
The strikes are aimed at stopping ISIS from re-establishing power in Syria, where it has lost considerable ground.
