Six former Ohio State wrestling coaches come to the defense of Congressman Jim Jordan, after he was accused of ignoring sexual assault allegations while coaching at the university nearly three decades ago.
In a joint statement released Monday, the wrestling coaches said they all worked on the university’s coaching staff during Jordan’s tenure and none of them saw or heard of any type of abuse happening against the student athletes.
They added if they were made aware of the allegations they would have spoken up.
This comes after Jordan was accused of turning a blind eye to claims the team’s former doctor sexually abused several OSU wrestlers, while he worked as an assistant coach.
Jordan has denied the allegations.
