Wildfires rip through Southern California, threatening Alpine, Santa Barbara, Camp Pendleton, and San Bernardino, amid scorching temperatures.
A brush fire sparked in Alpine around noon Friday, damaging at least 400 acres and destroying dozens of homes.
Gusty winds fueled “the holiday fire” on the Santa Barbara coast, destroying several homes and threatening more, as temperatures remained in the triple digits.
Camp Pendleton also went up in flames, prompting more evacuations and burning at least 330 acres.
San Bernardino National Forest was also evacuated while at least 200 acres burned.
