A former Thai Navy SEAL has died, during efforts to save a soccer team trapped in a cave.
The 38-year-old man died from lack of oxygen while placing air tanks in the cave, according to local reports.
Rescuers have been working around the clock to save the 12 boys and their coach, who have been trapped underground for nearly two weeks.
Doctors say the declining health of two boys and their coach makes it too dangerous to immediately rescue them, as they are suffering from exhaustion and malnutrition.
This comes as other members of the trapped soccer team begin crash courses, including swimming and diving training with soldiers to prepare to escape.
