According to a new report, the Trump administration is sending hundreds of migrants back to Central America under the administration’s ‘zero-tolerance’ policy.
An article by the Associated Press said people seeking refuge from El Salvador, Honduras, and Guatemala are largely being sent back.
The president said his administration’s policy would prevent Central American gang members from entering the U.S.
According to the report, less than one-percent of individuals apprehended at the southern border belonged to Central American gangs.
Nonetheless, the administration continues to prevent victims of gang violence and domestic abuse from being granted asylum.
