New reports are suggesting then-Deputy Attorney General James Comey turned a blind-eye to allegations of a federal informant taking part in murders.
According to unredacted emails obtained by an ABC affiliate, Comey failed to take action against a Juarez Cartel informant with the nickname of Lalo.
Court documents show the informant admitted to participating in killings by holding down victims, and even driving targets to locations where he knew they would be killed.
This comes despite the Department of Justice strictly prohibiting informants from taking part in violent crimes.
It remains unclear why Comey and other top officials failed to stop using the informant, and continued to pay him a quarter million dollars over four-years.
