The next Supreme Court Justice is expected to begin the first days of the upcoming session hearing a critical case regarding the death penalty.
Justices will hear a case questioning whether an inmate can be executed who cannot remember he committed the crime, according to the court’s schedule released Monday.
The Alabama convict ,Vernon Madison, suffers memory loss from severe strokes and reportedly doesn’t remember committing murder.
His representation argues executing him would be considered cruel and unusual punishment because of his mental illness.
