President Trump is already making waves at the NATO summit after slamming Germany for its role in a pipeline project with Russia.
Early Wednesday morning, the president had a heated back and forth with NATO Secretary General Jens Stoltenberg over breakfast.
The pipeline project is a problem in the president’s eyes as he feels Germany — a NATO-protected country — should not be cooperating in a major energy deal that will benefit Russia.
The pipeline is set to double the amount of gas Russia can transport to Germany, which some warn will give Moscow an advantage over Western Europe.
During the summit, President Trump will continue to reaffirm his demands for higher defense spending from European countries.
He will end his day by attending a working dinner with world leaders.
