President Trump is continuing to play an active role in the 2018 midterms. He recently praised West Virginia Attorney General Patrick Morrisey, who is looking to unseat Senator Joe Manchin.
During Tuesday’s Salute to Service Dinner, the president said Morrisey is fighting a great race, and said the GOP hopeful is a tough and strong guy.
He praised Morrisey for his primary victory earlier this year, and indicated he believes the race against Manchin — who Republicans are targeting — will be close.
Morrisey took to Twitter during the president’s visit, saying it was an honor to have him in West Virginia.
