GOP spokeswoman Kayleigh McEnany is speaking out about the party’s strategy going into November’s midterm elections.
In an interview Thursday, McEnany said the party is not only looking to reelect incumbents, but build on their majorities.
McEnany said one goal of the party is to gain serious ground in the Senate.
She said Republicans hope to capitalize on the 10 Democrats running for reelection in states President Trump won in the 2016 election.
She admits, however, the House could be a different story, with enormous consequences if Republicans lose their majority.
“I think what makes me nervous is the House, we don’t want to lose the House, we recognize that there are Democrats that have discussed impeachment even though its a bogus baseless theory with no grounding in truth, we do think that losing the House puts that at risk and puts that in play,” McEnany explained.
She went on to say the president’s accomplishments are resonating with voters, while Democrat obstruction efforts are not popular among Americans. Instead, they want to continue the country’s economic surge.
