Just weeks after President Trump’s successful summit with Kim Kong Un, the White House says progress is still being made with North Korea.
Sarah Sanders said Secretary of State Mike Pompeo will travel to North Korea on July 5 to continue negotiations, during Monday’s press briefing.
She added the Trump administration is hopeful North Korea will live up to its promise to completely denuclearize, noting sanctions will remain in place until the U.S. can confirm the Korean peninsula is free of nuclear weapons.
In terms of the progress being made, Sanders pointed to North Korea’s softening behavior arguing there has not been a single missile launch in nearly a year.
