YouTube is pledging $25 million to combat the spread of fake news on its platform.
The company recently announced it would be introducing several new features to combat the spreading of misinformation.
The new initiatives include text previews with links to articles, a fact checking box, and a ‘top news’ tab to highlight peer-reviewed sources.
A group of popular YouTubers will also be teaming up with educational news media organizations to provide teens with training to better recognize fake news.
This comes as a part of Google’s $300 million news initiative, which was announced in March.
