Cuba extradites a U.S. fugitive the FBI describes as a domestic terrorist, after fleeing the country nearly 13-years ago.
Joseph Dibee was traveling to Russia and made a stop in Cuba, where authorities detained him on Friday.
He was accused of setting fire to a meat packing plant in Oregon in 1997, with similar offenses in states like California and Washington.
Dibee and his co-conspirators are linked to more than 40 crimes, with alleged ties to eco-terrorist groups.
“Joseph Dibee is alleged to have participated in while affiliated with the Earth Liberation Front also known as ELF and Animal Liberation Front known as ALF. These are known environmental extremist groups.” -Billy Williams, U.S. district attorney of Oregon
One co-conspirator reportedly remains at large, who authorities believe fled to Europe 17-years ago.
