U.S. officials are confirming Iran’s military fired it’s first ballistic missile test of 2018 last week.
Friday, officials said U.S. spy satellites picked up the launch, which demonstrated Iran’s short-range ballistic missile capabilities. The launch is the first by the Iranian regime since March of 2017.
Many see the move as an act of defiance against the Trump administration, who pulled out of the Iran nuclear deal in May.
It also violates a 2015 UN resolution, calling on Iran not to take any action in furthering its ballistic missile technology.
