Paul Manafort is avoiding showing up at pre-trial hearing arranged by Mueller’s team to hash out legal issues before his second trial next month.
According to a Politico report, the judge accepted a signed waiver from Manafort on Monday afternoon allowing him to be excused from Tuesday’s hearing.
This is not the first time Manafort has passed up appearing in court prior to trial.
He made a similar request back in June before his first trial in order to avoid a nearly two hour drive inside a jail van to the court house and appearing in a prison jumpsuit.
Manafort’s attorneys did not give a specific reason for the latest absence and did not say if he will attend next week’s hearing.
