Michael Cohen’s lawyer is admitting he lied and is walking back claims he made about President Trump, saying he “misspoke.”
Former Clinton special counsel and now Cohen lawyer — Lanny Davis — said that he could “not independently verify” claims he made last week that the president knew about and encouraged Russian hacking in 2016.
He also could not verify his claims Cohen witnessed Donald Trump Jr. telling his father about the Trump tower meeting beforehand.
Davis said there’s a possibility it happened, but he’s not sure and he takes responsibility for what he called “miscommunication.”
His comments verify President Trump’s claims that the comments were a lie perpetuated by the fake news media.
