Deputy Attorney General Rod Rosenstein releases a second statement, denying claims he wanted to secretly tape President Trump with the aim of removing him from office
On Friday, Rosenstein said, he never pursued or authorized any surveillance of the president, and the idea that he was looking to invoke the 25th amendment — as reported by The New York Times — is absolutely false.
This comes after the DOJ official made a similar statement earlier in the day, calling the story “inaccurate” and “factually incorrect.”
The damning report has only fueled calls from the GOP for Rosenstein to be fired from his position overseeing the Russia investigation.
