President Trump calls North Carolina officials, to offer crucial federal aid as Tropical Storm Florence continues to ravage areas of the state.
The White House stated Friday, the president spoke to the state’s lieutenant governor, as well as the mayors of both Charlotte and Princeville.
He assured them, the Trump administration is ready to assist their communities with anything they need during the natural disaster.
The statement added, the president closely monitored the impact of the devastating storm throughout the day, and plans to visit areas affected by florence when conditions allow.
The administration is also working to prevent catastrophes likes those seen in previous years with their newest alarm system.
FEMA is reportedly collaborating with President Trump with their latest alert system capable of reaching around 100 mobile carriers.
Congress approved the executive alert phone-line in 2015 in an effort to keep the public aware of immediate threats to public safety.
The warnings would come from the oval office, in the event of a natural disaster. FEMA is scheduled to test the system next Thursday.
