The ranking Democrat on the House Intelligence Committee is stalling a bill that includes funds to protect American infrastructure from foreign adversaries.
Representative Adam Schiff broke-away from the Gang of Eight Friday, withholding his support for the Intelligence Authorization Act.
The bipartisan bill would provide essential organizational efforts to protect election security.
It would also allow lawmakers to voice their priorities to the intelligence community regarding the focus of their efforts.
Schiff’s obstruction comes as the new fiscal year begins on October 1st, with sources saying he hopes to revisit the bill after midterm elections.
