Authorities in New York foiled a terror plot allegedly planned for election day.
On Wednesday, federal agents announced Paul Rosenfield had been taken into custody for allegedly planning to detonate a suicide bomb on the National Mall in Washington, D.C.
According to authorities, the 56-year-old created the bomb in his basement with materials purchased online.
During the FBI’s investigation, they found a functional explosive device weighing more than 200 pounds.
Rosenfeld now faces multiple charges, including unlawfully manufacturing a destructive device.
