The NRA is blasting Jon Tester over his decision to oppose Brett Kavanaugh and has downgraded his rating to a ‘D.’
The organization made the announcement Tuesday evening, saying the Montana Senator joined forces with Chuck Schumer and anti-gun liberals to vote against the right to self defense. The NRA said the downgrade sends a message to Montanans that Tester cannot be trusted.
Tester is running against Republican Matt Rosendale in a state President Trump won in a landslide in 2016. Rosendale has consistently called out Tester over his record.
The NRA has mirrored that message.
Recent polls have shown a tight race between Tester and Rosendale. The current state auditor said he will push the president’s agenda if elected.
