President Trump is pushing for the Republican National Committee (RNC) chair to stay for another term as he builds a team for his 2020 campaign. According to reports, the president asked RNC chair Ronna McDaniel to remain in her role.
Under McDaniel, the RNC broke multiple fundraising records in 2017 and started new grassroots efforts.
President Trump is said to be impressed with her work in implementing his ‘America first’ policies.
Although McDaniel holds an elected position, presidents typically recommend someone to fill that role.
President Trump put McDaniels name forward when Reince Preibus left the post in 2017 to become his chief of staff.
