A 67-year-old woman was left in a wheelchair overnight at Chicago’s O’hare airport after her flight was canceled.
According to reports Sunday, Olimpia Warsaw was taken to an American Airlines gate by her family, but the flight was canceled and the porter assigned to her left after their shift ended.
Her family said Warsaw is diagnosed with diabetes as well as Parkinsons disease, and has trouble communicating.
The airline offered her a hotel room, but did not offer her transportation.
When she didn’t arrive in Detroit, her family called the airport and she was later found by a security guard.
American Airlines has apologized to the family and said they are investigating the matter.
