President Trump defends his decision to begin troop withdrawal from Syria amid the administration’s success in the fight against the Islamic State group.
In a series of tweets on Monday, he said ISIS is mostly gone and the U.S. is slowly sending troops back home to be with their families.
President Trump claimed if anybody but him, did what he did in Syria, he believes they would be a “national hero.”
He pointed out how he campaigned on leaving Syria, but “fake news media” and “some failed generals” complained about his tactics he claims are working.
The president suggested the results are far better than he ever said they were going to be, and reminded Americans he campaigned against “never-ending wars.”
If anybody but Donald Trump did what I did in Syria, which was an ISIS loaded mess when I became President, they would be a national hero. ISIS is mostly gone, we’re slowly sending our troops back home to be with their families, while at the same time fighting ISIS remnants……
